Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida, will host the 2023 ICF SUP World Cup & Recreational 5K Paddle from October 13th to 15th.

For those who thrive on competition, various race categories are on offer. Whether it's the intensity of the 200m sprints, the endurance of the 10K distance, or the skill set required for the 800m technical race, there's something for every competitive spirit. And it's not just about hard board races; there's room for inflatable events too.

But this event isn’t solely for the pros. In a nod to the community and the sport's growing popularity, there's a recreational 5K paddle race lined up. And with Halloween right around the corner, participants are encouraged to don costumes, adding a touch of festive spirit to the competition. While it’s optional, there's a prize for the best costume to spice things up.

Beth Spilman, Executive Director of the American Canoe Association, sees this as an "incredible opportunity for recreational paddlers to experience the thrill of an international competition." And if that’s not enough to get the adrenaline pumping, a whopping $10,000 prize money awaits winners in the ICF events.

For those who want to witness the action and enjoy the atmosphere, entrance is free for spectators. So, get there this weekend, and whether you're racing or watching, Sarasota is set to deliver a memorable SUP experience this October.
