Paddle athletes on the All-Access plan receive weekly training programs and discussions with Coach Larry Cain for Standup Paddleboarding (SUP). Advanced, Intermediate and Novice programs adapted for your schedule and goals.

Paddlers of all different abilities, levels, and time commitments will have a weekly program that will fit their goals. The weekly on-water plan will have technique drills and strength and power training plans coinciding with each week’s training programs. Members can then ask questions and share their experiences with the training community.

Coach Travis Grant will be specializing in training paddle athletes on OC-1 and OC-2s (one and two-man outrigger canoes) and assisting OC-6 (6-man outrigger canoes) coaches with training plans and technique for their OC-6 crews.

SUP • MOBILITY • ENDURANCE COACH SEYCHELLE

Coach Seychelle

Members on the SUP and Endurance All-Access plan will receive weekly training programs, technique information and discussions from Coach Seychelle.

A perennial Top 10 standup paddle racer and SIC Maui team rider, is joining the Paddle Monster coaching squad for the 2018 paddle season.

A native of the Florida Keys, Seychelle has always had a deep connection to the water. She has a US Coast Guard Masters license and was an accomplished sailor before discovering Stand Up Paddleboarding in 2013. She is also a registered yoga instructor and personal trainer.

Coach Seychelle will have four different paddle training groups: Three levels for warm-climate paddlers including Advanced, Intermediate and Beginner; And a fourth group focused on long, paddle-endurance races.

SPORTS NUTRITION • COACH VICTORIA BURGESS

There are three levels of Sports Nutrition coaching from Coach Victoria Burgess.

Certified sports nutritionist and world class stand up paddleboard competitor Victoria Burgess is joining the Paddle Monster team as its nutrition coach, starting February 1, 2019. Burgess has CISSN certification as a Sports Nutritionist and is pursuing a PhD in Health and Human Performance.

“I’m really excited to have Victoria join us as our sports nutrition expert,” said Paddle Monster co-founder Larry Cain. “I’ve always taken the position that considering every possible angle in preparation is the key to success in sports. What we eat fuels our performance and our recovery from hard training. It’s an important part of a “no stone left unturned approach” to our preparation. Having an expert, who is actually a high performance paddler herself, provide our members with quality nutritional advice is going to make a huge difference to what we can offer our subscribers.”

Burgess, a resident of South Florida, is a surfer and a stand up paddleboard competitor with a passion for ocean races. She is a two-time Florida State Paddleboard Championship overall female champion, winner of the Rincon Beach Boy race (2016), Orange bowl paddleboard champion (2017), she placed 6th in the Molokai to Oahu championships, 3rd in the Maui to Molokai crossing and came in 2nd female overall in the East Coast SUP Surf Circuit in 2017.

In addition, in June 2018, Burgess completed a 115 mile journey across the Straits of Florida from Cuba to Key West in 27 hours and 48 minutes, non-stop. She set a Guinness Book of World Records being the fastest across the channel, and the first and only female to do so, thus far.

“I am extremely excited to be joining the Paddle Monster team along with the other amazing and talented coaches,” Burgess said. “I am excited to bring my knowledge and experience to the paddle community to help them achieve your goals from the inside, out.”

Members on the All-Access plan will receive weekly, paddle-specific dry-land training plans from Paddle Strength and Power Coach Chris Chapman, MSc., CSCS, CSEP-CEP.

Coach Chris Chapman will prepare weekly land-based strength and power plans for novice, intermediate and advanced paddlers with options for both gym and non-gym/home training. We will have video demonstrations of the exercises in the video library and linked to the weekly plans. Members can then ask Coach Chris questions on the forum and share their experiences with the training community.

There is an app and a web version of the Paddle Monster Training Platform. All-Access members get weekly training plans from their paddle and strength coaches and can have them modified by their coaches to fit their individual needs.
