Gorge Paddle Challenge Werner Coverage Videos

“Insider Coverage,” from Columbia Gorge Paddle Challenge. Day 1 racing saw Annabelle Anderson and Connor Baxter take the win in the “Super Lap,” with Werner Paddles own Tyler Bashor winning the “Grom Race.” On the opposite end of the age scale, Tyler’s Team mate local MacRae Wylde, won the 50 over age group. Other top finishers from the Team were Josh Riccio, all the way from Hawaii, scoring a top 15 and putting him in position to move up the leaderboard with his combined points from Sunday’s “Double Dowinder.” Lina Augaitis takes 8th while Fiona Wylde ends up 3rd and will certainly threaten to take the overall with her downwind skills on Sunday. Check out the video and be sure to stay tuned for action from Sunday’s finale. #StandUPPaddleRace #SUPRace
Columbia Gorge Paddle Challenge, “Insider Coverage” from Werner Paddles of Day 2 down wind action. Father-daughetr-boyfriend steal the show?! Although Mother Nature was the true star of Day 2 action, serving up SICK winds to give true downwind racing to the world’s best stand up paddle racers, the story line of MacRae Wylde taking 2nd in the Open division and his daughter and her boy friend (Fiona Wylde + Bernd Roediger ) taking First and Second in the elite division may be the coolest story line of the event. Strong finishes by other Team Werner athletes included top 20 by Josh Riccio in what he called potentially, “the most competitive downwinder the sport has seen,” and 2nd in the “Grom” division by Tyler Bashor. Congrats to ALL of our team riders, thanks for your support and AMAZING job training, racing and smiling. Thanks to the folks from Naish Stand Up Paddling for hosting another great event and congrats to all the racers out there.
