Gone Paddling Expedition Update: Tomahawk and Lake Mohawksin

Earlier this week we told you about filmmaker Jesse Hieb’s 430-mile self-supported paddle down the Wisconsin River. He is raising awareness of water quality revitalization work. We caught his Facebook Live video this morning, and he’s doing well.
He paddled through the town of Tomahawk, WI where he was cheered on by a group of young fans. Then he stopped in at a paddle-up pub on Lake Mohawksin for a pint and the night.
That’s right, a paddle up pub. It’s called the Happy Snapper. Jesse says they have the best cheese curds he has ever had. And he’s from Wisconsin – he ought to know.
Jesse is paddling a Raven inflatable provided by Boardworks and he is using a Big Agnes Fly Creek one-person tent. The two apparently make a good sleeping pad/shelter combo, though we can’t say we recommend it for backpacking!!
Check out the expedition’s website for more information!
Now…about those cheese curds….
