More Rider Changes: Gomez, Freitas Make Announcements
Changes for SUP Pros Gomez, Freitas for 2018
After Kai Lenny’s announcement this week, 3-time Women’s SUP Surfing World Champion and long-time Starboard pro Izzi Gomez took to Instagram to say she’s living the Tiki life for the new year:
“I just want to start by saying thank you to @starboardsup for believing in me since day 1. Starboard gave me the opportunity 5 years ago to join the team, travel the world and launch my career in SUP. I will always be forever grateful for the memories I’ve made and the experiences I’ve had with Starboard. That being said, I will be parting ways with Starboard. Again, thank you for everything. 🙏🏼 I’m really excited for this year, time to take on some new challenges!”
And, Mo Freitas, who had a great 2017 also went to Instagram to make a similar announcement:
“I am enjoying the snow and this vacation, it feels good to recharge, refocus, realign and take in the new year to renew my commitments. 2018 is going to be great! I am finally done with negotiations and one step closer to signing a deal with my new board sponsor, feels good to have the support of a well established company, one that shares the same goals, visions and values. Stay tuned as we will be officially releasing news soon. #newyear#newboard”
