16-year old Hannah Hill, a product of Big Winds’ youth sup development program and up and coming racing sensation has put together a program that not only encourages girls to get out on the water but also raises money for the local food bank. Right on, Hannah! Talk about spirit of Aloha and ohana!

Can you describe the event?
SUP for FISH is an event (rather than a race) that gets girls out on the water and having fun. We’ll be working on footwork (standing on one foot, yoga, etc.), little races, and tandem paddling. ? We’ll also have some awesome on land activities like T-shirt decorating and ultimate Frisbee.
Does your event benefit a charity and if so, can you tell us about them?
Yes! All of the proceeds from this event go the the Hood River FISH Food Bank.
What kind of paddling settings and conditions will participants face?
Possibly some wind because we’re in the Columbia River Gorge, but hopefully not too much.
What makes your event great? What will paddlers love about coming to your event?
It’s going to be SUPer fun, and it’s all for a great cause.
Will there be any clinics and what are the details?
Not really clinics, but we will teach fun SUP things.
Where can people get paddle gear like PFDs and Hydration packs?
Big Winds! We’ll have all of the great needed for the day ready to go, though.
