Can you describe the different races and courses?
The Main Course is a spectator and paddler-friendly triangle with two buoys.
The Short Course is one lap around the course at 5K distance.
The Long Course is two laps around the course, for 10K distance. Distances are approximate and vary slightly on race day with wind and current conditions.
New this year is a point-to-point course starting on the Trent River and finishing one lap of the Main course on the Neuse River. Approximate distance is 12 miles.
The Junior Sprint Race is a heat format on short buoy course on one-design boards.
What kind of paddling settings and conditions will racers face?
The Neuse and Trent Rivers are wide, flatwater rivers with potential waves/chop and current influenced by wind.

The spectator-friendly venue, easy to navigate course, ample parking, paddler-friendly course access, beer, collectible finisher medal, and good times.

Friday, August 26th – Launch Party/Packet Pick Up at Stand Up Outfitters waterfront location with free demos and vendor marketplace
Where can people get paddle gear like PFDs and Hydration packs?
Get geared up at Stand Up Outfitters 2 locations in New Bern or at the SUO tent on race day

The Galley Stores at the race site or Food Lion on Hwy 70

Persimmons Restaurant at the Race Site and 247 Craven. There’s also Chipotle and Panera on 70
