Can you describe the different races and courses?

1 / 3 / or 6 mile Races:
-6 mileAlbert Cichra Builder’s “Prize Money” Race (For intermediate to advanced or elite paddlers who want to win that $$$ – a $1200 total purse)
-3 mile Open Race (For beginner to advanced, recreational or amateur paddlers)
-1 mile “Green” Race (For paddlers who are racing for the first time)

Double Whammy Prize Money Races:
**There are two events in this registration option:
-1/3/or 6 mile Races as priced & described above AND
– Albert Cichra Builder’s DRAG RACE “SPRINT FOR CASH” (For intermediate-advanced paddlers who want to double their odds at winning prize money – a $500 total purse)

Free Races (Registration on-site the day of the event):
-Kids “Nugget” Race – FREE (For groms 12 & under – must know how to swim)
-“Tug Life” Partner Relay – FREE (for paddlers who live the tug life)

Does your event benefit a charity and if so, can you tell us about them?

Orlando is our home town, our home base, our love. Due to recent tragic events we have chosen a charity focused on uniting and strengthening our city. Partial proceeds of LMJ 2016 will be donated to the OneOrlando Fund, providing much needed support to the victims of the Pulse Night Club tragedy and their families. OneOrlando Fund is a project of Strengthen Orlando, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation created for the purpose of supporting and starting projects to strengthen the Orlando community. https://www.oneorlando.org/

Orlando’s Largest SUP Race for Chronic Paddlers. Building and connecting the paddle community with a fun and charitable event for all experience and competitive levels, ages and paddle craft. Spectator and.  family friendly. DJ, Food Trucks, Lawn Games, Playground, Floating Island, Raffle and. more! LMJ2016 is the final race in the Fastest In Florida Points Series! Open to all paddle craft.  Catch all the action and cheer on your loved ones with near and highly visible race courses. Race with your kid in our Parent/Grom division. Get on the water with SUP demos and fun floating island. Play lawn games like bocci ball, ladder ball, ring toss and corn hole. Kids activities like Kids Race, pirate tattoos, and playground. Delicious food trucks, enjoy the sounds of our live DJ and enter to win high-end raffle prizes! All set on beautiful Lake Mary Jane with a natural, old Florida feel.

Will there be any clinics and what are the details?

Werner Paddles Social Paddle with Jeramie Vaine on Friday Sept. 23rd 5p on Lake Mary Jane for donation only! This mellow paddle will bring us around beautiful Lake Mary Jane the night before the 4th Annual Lake Mary Jane Paddle Race. If you have questions on stroke technique, race strategy, equipment or anything related to SUP and the SUP industry, ask away. This is an open forum aimed at helping to provide information on all things SUP with a hands on experience. There will be Werner Paddles available for demo allowing paddlers to experience different length and blade size paddles. Let’s all get together and support our amazing community by getting everyone out on the water!

And, Paddle Race Tuesdays, Lake Mary Jane Paddle Race Training: The Original Florida Weekly Community Paddle Race Series for Every One, Every Level & Every Paddle Craft. Our weekly paddle races are designed for non-competitive & competitive paddlers alike, beginners to pros – paddle anything you like!
-Where: Dinky Dock Park, Ollie Ave, Winter Park 32789
-When: Tuesdays September 6th – 20th = 3 races total.
-Time: Check In: 5:45-6:15p; Start Time: Promptly at 6:30p.
-Entry Fee:
-FIRST RACE FREE! After your free trial, entry is just $10.
– FAMILY RACE PLAN – Pay full price for one family member & receive 20% off for each additional family member.
-KIDS COURSE RACE (13 years & younger) is FREE w/a paying adult.

– Kids Course = .25mi out and back or looping course for paddlers 13 years old and younger. Must be accompanied by an adult, know how to swim and wear a pfd. Kids Race is completed first so parents may participate in the other courses.
