Can you describe the different races and courses?

10k distance race for any paddlecraft. This race launches from Southside riverfront park, and will be a water start at the Birmingham Bridge. Racers will then race down the Mon to the Point, then turn up the Allegheny River to the Roberto Clemente Bridge. Racers will turn around at the Clemente Bridge outside on PNC park and race back to the start line.

There will also be 200 meter sprints, and a team relay all launched from Southside River front park. The sprints will be ongoing throughout the day and racers will have an opportunity to hangout, grab a bit after the 10k, then race the clock when they feel up to it!

What kind of paddling settings and conditions will racers face?

Flat water, some current and chop.

What makes your event great? What will paddlers love about coming to your event?

It’s a celebration of all paddle sports in a beautiful urban setting. While there is racing, this event is more about chilling with likeminded people, and enjoying time on the water.
