Can you describe the different races and courses?
The 6 Mile Race will paddle down river 1 mile with a turn around. Then up river 3 miles with another turnaround to paddle back down river 2 miles to the finish. The 6 mile will award trophies for 1st – 3rd place in:
The 3 mile course will paddle 1.5 miles upriver to the Tuscaloosa bridge and then 1.5 miles back to the finish.
The 3 Mile Race will award trophies for 1st – 3rd in
Men’s rec/surf 12′ and under
Women’s rec/surf 12′ and under.
A 1 mile open course for all ages and all board types. Awards for 1st-3rd men’s and women’s
What kind of paddling settings and conditions will racers face?
Flatwater. Conditions should be calm.
What makes your event great? What will paddlers love about coming to your event?
Tuscaloosa has a growing sup community that really embraces this event. The race is also part of the Southern Stoke paddle series. The series has a large and loyal group of paddlers that travel from race to race. We meet great people at every event in the series.
Where can people get paddle gear like PFDs and Hydration packs?
PFD’s will be available if needed.

5 Bar Tuscaloosa, Chuck’s Fish and Depalma’s Italian. Another Broken Egg is located at the Race Site so that is hard to beat.
