404 and Danny Ching come out with new OC-1 and V1

Danny and the 404 team have teamed up with Tehuritaua to produce a OC-1 and a V1. The container with these new canoes arrives in January.

According to Danny, "I’m really excited to be working with Steeve and Marc at Tehuritaua on Upgrading their V1 construction process and being able to distribute to a much larger audience. Upgrades can be found at the 404seas.com website but the short list is Lighter and stronger construction, Carbon Adjustable footbrace, and a Foot pump bailing system"

The collaboration began with a V1 design, but then translated into aa design for a new OC-1.

"While figuring out the details of manufacturing the V1, I was presented a great opportunity to add an Oc1 to the line. I am really excited about the canoe design and pumped on our factory’s production capabilities. I’ve been playing with canoe designs concepts since 2020 just to see what i was capable of. I ended up with a new all round concept blending design features from Oc1’s, V1s, and OC6s that I love. All I can say is I spent a lot of time blending flat water hull concepts below the normal waterline and adding rough water hull concepts above the natural waterline. In testing, I was very happy with the out come.

AC-DC 404 OC1

This might feel rock and roll to you, but the name is more personal. According to Danny, "I’ve named the first OC1 design the AC/DC to honor the connection between me and my father Al Ching."

V1 404 / VAA TEHURITAUA / STEEVY BOY PRO MODEL
