Dave Kalama is blowing the doors off Maliko Times on a foil

It may look slow because they are gliding atop the water. But they are FLYING! I remember when they were trying to break the hour mark on the Maliko Run on a SUP and now Dave’s breaking 40 minutes on foil. Mind blowing. “Average speed of approximately 14 mph for 9.2 miles. Which means large stretches of 16 to 19 mph”

39:01 represents the time it took me to get from Maliko to kahului harbor on my foilboard today. Not the fastest time ever, but not far off either. It also represents a average speed of approximately 14 mph for 9.2 miles. Which means large stretches of 16 to 19 mph, as well as times only going 8 to 10 mph. But probably most importantly it means 39 minutes of being completely locked in, or perhaps a better way to describe it is, 39 minutes of being completely present and in the moment. The thing with foiling is you don’t get to check out for a few minutes to take a break, you have to be in the here and now, or you’re ass over tea kettle before you know what happened. While it’s not relaxing, it is rejuvenating. Not many things give you that reprieve from reality. For me and many more, foiling does. I was riding a 6’0”x 28” that I shaped and a @gofoil Maliko 200, also a @qbpaddles V-drive 101. Epic day and happy new year everyone. Aloha🤙🏽 @kalamaperformance
