Downwind championship 2024

$150A full weekend of events on the water:
This two-day event offers
- sprint races
- a technical race (2 to 4 km)
- a downwind race (10 to 21 km)
- Accommodation in a cottage close to the races, on Île d’Orléans.
- Security provided by the Auxiliary Coast Guard
- Athlete insurance provided by our partner eau-vive Quebec
The exact detailed race schedule will be determined based on weather conditions. Depending on the winds and tides, the races will take place between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. The final schedule will be determined 48 hours before the start of the event.
The desired conditions are winds of 10 to 28 knots, offering swells of 2 to 6 feet. We have established several different routes around Île d’Orléans.
The 2023 edition attracted 66 participants from Quebec, Ontario and the United States.

– A new place for chalet and camping with direct access to the water
– Registration price now includes chalet/camping Friday and Saturday
The event is aimed at experienced SUP, Foil, Surfski and OC1 athletes.
Boats will be on site to ensure everyone’s safety.
For safety reasons, we will respect a maximum of 35 participants in SUP and 35 participants in Surfski/Oc1 or a total of 70 participants.
Regulation :
• SUP participants: rigid racing-style board of 12.6 feet minimum required;
• Leach required;
• Life jacket required;
• Fox 40 whistle required;
• Isothermal clothing suitable for the conditions, if required;
• Cell phone recommended;
• Be able to navigate in oceanic conditions;
• Be able to maneuver in swells of 2 to 6 feet;
• Be independent for 25 km.
