Off Season Programs Launch next week for Larry Cain Northern Hemisphere

Off-season training an essential part of preparation for the next paddling season. There are two programs: one geared toward cold climates with limited water access and the other, warm, year-’round paddling areas. Training Begins the week of November 12-18, but you can jump in at any time this winter.

OFF-SEASON WARM
This program focuses on increasing overall aerobic fitness and strength in non-specific (land-based) activities while providing enough work on the water to maintain specific (on-water) fitness and provide ample opportunity to address improvements in technique. Training is 6 days/week with up to 3 strength sessions, up to 4 land-based cardio sessions and 2 paddling sessions.

OFF-SEASON COLD
This program mirrors the work in the off-season warm program however is designed for those that are unable to paddle or can only paddle sporadically through the winter, with the paddling sessions replaced by land-based cardio sessions. Training is 6 days/week with up to 3 strength sessions, up to 6 land-based cardio sessions and up to 2 optional paddles (replacing land-based work) if conditions permit.
